1961 DKW 1000 vs 1962 NSU Prinz

When you are stuck in a coronavirus quarantine you start to appreciate the little things in life.  Such as choices.  Do you eat bologna or cotto salami in your white bread sandwich? Do you walk clockwise around your block or counter clockwise? Do you walk in the street to avoid the oncoming neighbor or step onto someone's lawn?  But the real choice that you've been dreaming out is -- do you get this 1961 DKW 1000 or this 1962 NSU Prinz offered by the same seller for $2000 ($1490 USD) and $2200 ($1571 USD) respectively located in Lethbridge, AB, Canada.  Tips from Erik202.

The seller doesn't give much descriptive details on these two early 60s German built classics, but I think you'll need to get a tow truck to bring them home.  And I'd recommend getting both...just because if you are gonna start collecting odd cars, you might as well have a full deck.

See a better way to drive something German?

  1. Wondering if a rotary would bolt up to the Prinz tranny. then you paint it purple and name it "purple reign". Because reasons.

  2. That Prinz looks like it maybe had an engine fire - but how the engine got in the front I'll never know

imagine Groucho Marx saying that a'la

    1. Is the fuel tank up there like in a beetle?

  3. When I was a kid I had a morning paper route that used to take me by the parking spot for an NSU Prinz. I tried to get past the parking spot before the owner started it up because of the blue smoke. He would rev it up, it sounded like a two stroke and smoked like one. If he started it before I got past I would have to bike across the street to avoid the cloud of smoke lol
