Guilty Pleasure: 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo

The Dodge Daytona is a moped in the automotive landscape...one of those vehicles that is fun to ride until your friends find out.  It is also a "dirty secret longing" car...where you might like one, but you don't admit to anyone...but I'm here to yell it loud and proud -- The Daytona Turbo is awesome and you should own one or two or three. 1. I like how "no second gear" is randomly tossed into the description.
That's like burying a felony conviction in a resume under the bullet points.

    1. I'll admit to being a fan of Chrysler's attempts to build a sportier K-car; I had a '89 LeBaron Turbo coupe in college. But no second gear and well past 200K miles gives me pause.

  2. Yeah, and 234K miles on what appears to be the original 2.2 engine is also a bit disconcerting. I bought a new 85 Laser - nothing but a glorified K car, but the wife got decent service out of it as a DD.

  3. Isn't this the one that Consumer Reports complained about because it had a top speed of 160mph?
