Two Wheel Tuesday: 1956 Indian Arrow Motorcycle

This next car comes as a tip from SecondMouse who writes: I suppose it takes an unusual find to make it into DT if the item in question isn't an automobile, but perhaps this will do. Here is a rare and excellent example of a 1956 Indian Arrow. Offered from a private collection with some good photography, this is a motorcycle for the discerning collector. For any who ride, like me, this will put a smile on your face. It is unlikely that you will see one of these again, outside of a museum. Find this 1956 Indian Arrow Motorcycle offered for $8000 in Houston, TX via craigslist.

From the seller:

Indian
fuel: gas
transmission: manual
1956 Indian Arrow Motorcycle, Original condition.

IF YOU SEE THIS AD, IT'S STILL FOR SALE.

250cc, 7,816 miles. In excellent condition, near mint. Have original buddy seat for rear. Been in my collection for quite some time. Very rare find, so if you a collector, you don't want to miss out. First time ever offered, I am the second owner. The bike is in my possession. Texas title in hand. Have original manuals, etc. This is a real show piece.

  1. Oh the British Indian this is a Royal Infield, the American Indian company imported these the company has many strange turn's thru out there history of ownership's having owned a Gilroy Indian can say the new Polaris Indian is finally a very good motorcycle and with a strong company the Gilroy bikes not so much they put stuff out before it was ready to be on the road.

  3. Ah the Royal Infield, Wasn’t Prince Charles pitching, Juan Carlos of Spain on first base, King Philippe of Belgium on second, and “fine print” King Almu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah of Malaysia on third.

They had a pretty good season in 2014 ( two triple plays in the third inning of the championship!) then things all went downhill from there.

  4. So it’s a Royal Enfield Indian as opposed to an Indian Royal Enfield?
