Rally Ready: 1992 Mazda MX-3

The MX-3 was a small sporty hatch from Mazda launched in 1991 as a competitor to the Honda CRX and Volkswagen GTi.  The MX-3 borrowed many of its components from the 6th gen Familia/323/Protege platform but added hatchback usability and sporty looks.  The real kicker was the addition of an optional high revving small displacement V6 that put the MX-3 into a category of its own...and today's next example has been transformed into a dirt throwing rally machine. Find this 1992 Mazda MX-3 offered for $7,500 in Simi Valley, CA via craigslist.

It does need an exhaust. It got ripped off from the headers back during the last race. I will put on an exhaust before selling it. Or, if you want to do your own exhaust, I will sell it as is and knock a little off the price.

It was rolled in 2017, but as you can see, it was fully rebuilt better than it was before. The roll, rebuild, and tons of other pictures and video are available on the team Facebook page www.facebook.com/tsurally

  1. I like how the gauge cluster screen says 'This Side Up - Rally Racing' but the ad admits the car has been rolled. Hmm....

  2. Cheap cheap cheap! You could not build anything like this for multiples of the asking!!! (writer not affiliated with the seller.)

  3. Gee that corner weighting in the first photo is pretty impressive. All four wheels look to have -200 pounds at least.
