Happy Columbus Day: 2013 Fiat 500C Abarth

We continue DT's Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving celebration with this next Italian import, which is a Fiat:  The 2012 release of the Fiat 500 for the US market was actually a success from a sales perspective..but despite the "Eye-tal-yon" heritage, this thing was assembled in Meh-he-co, which probably isn't a bad thing, because I have to guess that Mexican build quality is gonna be superior to Italian build quality over the long run.  Anyway, this 500 is no normal 500, it is the 500C version AND it is upgraded with Scorpion venom to the Abarth spec, which means 160 horsepower and 170 ft-lbs of front tire shredding torque from the 1.4 liter Multi-Air 4-banger mated to a 5-speed shift-it-yourself transmission. Find this 2013 Fiat 500C Abarth offered for $9000 in Long Beach, CA via craigslist.

You can find cheaper Fiat 500 Abarths for sale on the web ($5k is certainly achievable for 2013 models) but this car combines the cool soft-top with the turbocharged engine and a decent non-black paint color.

From the seller:
2013 Fiat Abarth
condition: excellent
drive: fwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 31027
paint color: grey
size: compact
title status: clean
transmission: manual
type: hatchback
Up for sale is a CLEAN, incredibly fun 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio. Fully loaded with 1.4 turbo engine, Beats sound system, and a soft top, this car is a perfect car for city driving and especially for finding those tough parking spots. Third owner (vehicle was gifted to me from second-owner) and very low miles as it's been used as a secondary vehicle. Great gas mileage and sounds like a beast on the road. AC is ice cold and the leather seat heaters get nice and toasty when it gets cold outside.

It has been recently inspected by Fiat during an oil change with no issues found and also received a MultiAir filter change from Madness Autoworks in Signal Hill. This is sold as-is, but here is a short list of some items you may WANT to fix:

1. Passenger side seat release strap does not function, but inboard seat release lever can move seat forward
2. Clear coating on plastic spoiler is peeling, small body dings (see photos), and curb rash on wheels

This is a solid price given the mileage and condition. Look up other similar Abarths on here and you'll see. No low ballers, local pick up only, and cash only. No solicitors.

See a better way to drive a car with a rip-roarty exhaust note?

  1. Does the Abarth also go around the Caribbean murdering indigenous people but thinks it is actually in India because it too is bad at geography?

  2. This is a Smart car that has traded reliability for style.

  3. Damn, gone already. Based on your past coverage of them, I have decided I am going to own one of these things.
