4 Door Vette: 2004 Cadillac CTS-V

Here is a riddle for you: What is black on the outside, a family car on the inside and a Corvette on the underside?  If you said a frog, you are wrong...it is this next car..the legendary first generation CTS-V, which combined Corvette LS6 power and T56 manual transmission in a family friendly package. Find this 2004 Cadillac CTS-V here on eBay bidding for $8,100 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go, located in Dayton, OH.

From the seller:
2004 Cadillac CTS-V in excellent condition with only 35,733 miles. Paint is in great condition consistent with a vehicle from 2004. It's not perfect. Front passenger side bumper has some cracking paint on corner.  And there is a small blemish on the passenger door and another on the drivers side front fender.  See the pictures.  The engine is rated at 400 hp and has 395 ft-lb of torque.   This car is completely stock except for the Hurst shifter.  Tires are in great conditions too.  This car is very clean and a lot of fun to drive.  Thanks for looking!  This car is being sold as-is.  No warranty.  Only 35,733 miles! 1. Yes, my understanding was that the differential in these was made from green Pla-Doh.

  6. Hmmmn Hurst shifter brings to mind slamming through the gears after a smoky wheel hoppin' burnout out of the Tasty Freeze. Followed by several thousand dollars in repairs to the fragile differential. I think there are kits to strengthen the diffs and the later first gen ones might have stronger units so its just something to watch for when buying a first gen CTS-V. Sadly they are hard to find for sale around Vancouver Canada either 3/4 destroyed or priced like they are made of platinum.
