Range Extended: 2016 BMW i3

Mother Teresa (aka Saint Teresa of Calcutta) was well known for her views espousing the benefits of suffering. Now I'm okay with as much suffering as the next guy...but..you know...sometimes my left knee aches a bit, and then there was that time I waited in line at the DMV for what must have been a century (before I paid for AAA so that I didn't have to wait in line..) but I sorta think the guy or gal who drives this car every day to work has got to be eligible for a plenary indulgences or at least a few years off purgatory.  Anyway, I'm going to end this little soliloquy/diatribe with my favorite Mother Teresa quote with relation to modern electric cars: “I have come to realize more and more that the greatest disease and the greatest suffering is to be unwanted, unloved, uncared for, to be shunned by everybody, to be just nobody.”  Find this 2016 BMW i3 offered for $19,900 in Flagstaff, AZ via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

  1. Sweet Mother of God, that has to be THE most hideous thing on the road! An Aztec looks like Miss America compared to this! Did these actually sell in the US? Where does the little wind-up key go?

    1. I guess if someone was really into StarWars, this would be attractive. I guess.

    2. It's basically a Storm Trooper's helmet on wheels.

  2. Larry David's car in "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I actually drove one at the dealer. It was plenty roomy for me at 6', 200lbs. It is strictly a utilitarian car. Does what it is supposed to do. If you want good looks, go elsewhere.

  3. The first time I saw one of these I figured that it must be self driving because only blind people would like it.

If only they had an option for painting these a solid color rather than that two tone pattern that is so painful to see.

Panted a solid Colorado Orange or Bristol Standard Blue it would be less of an eyesore. Hell even two tone Colorado Orange and Bristol Standard Blue would be better.

My theory is that BMW is losing money on these and the paint is a last minute attempt at keeping people from buying them.

  4. “title status: lien”
Without an explanation , that’s a real deal killer.

Why? People buy cars with loans every day....more routine than not.

    2. Hmm, I'm more used to the "I bought this car at the impound yard police auction and out of the blue some bank says they own it" fiasco.

    3. Not that I have ever done that myself mind you.

  5. I kinda like it.

But then again, I like French Bulldogs and Hot Wheels.

If Tommy Tutone was a Transformer, this is the car he would be.
