Elite Enterprises: 1979 Laser 917

The VW Beetle based 917 Laser doesn't look much like a real Porsche 917 and it doesn't drive much like a real Porsche 917...but it offers an interesting combination of style and affordability that is difficult to match.  It will perplex your Tesla driving neighbors to no end and is probably explicitly banned in your HOA...but it'll be worth every minute of pain to drive around in this thing. Find this 1979 Laser 917 offered for $6000 in South Elgin, IL via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

From the seller:

1979 Laser 917
VIN: 1102675724

drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 123456
paint color: red

title status: clean
transmission: manual

This is for sure a one of the better 917's from the late 70's. It needs some work to get it back on the road, but you will will have one "looker" when done. Needs brake work, new floor pans, engine is not seized. Free and clear IL title. Note: If you are looking at the ad the car is still for sale. Do not ask if still available, I will not respond

  4. I was going to ask if anyone could identify the engine as being out of a Subaru.
