Pug Life: 1981 Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel

How...why...wait!  This next car is one of those head-scratching oddballs that begs the questions -- how did it survive in this condition; why would it be in this nice shape compared to its siblings and cousins; wait, I want it but it might take 10 years to drive home! Find this 1981 Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel offered for $12,000 outside of Boston, MA. Tip from Rock On!

This vintage Peugeot 505 is an amazingly preserved original example that has been driven only 34600 miles. After spending a couple decades in careful storage it has been recommissioned over the last year with new fluids and battery. While technically an antique, this is in as close to new condition that you are likely to find in any car of it's age.
Everything is as it was when it drove off the dealer's lot in Natick 37 years ago. The paint is flawless with no fading, scratches or dings. There is NO RUST anywhere on this car. The blue cloth interior shows virtually no sign of wear, The carpets are spotless having been covered with two layers of mats since new. The car drives beautifully, it tracks straight, the engine pulls smoothly producing no unusual smoke and the transmission shifts smoothly with a strong clutch. The power metal sunroof and power windows all work well.
It has very few needs:
The A/C does not blow cool and should have an r134 refrigerant conversion to operate correctly.
The original radio powers on with static but produces no other sound. The power antenna works.
It still has its original Michelin tires which show some dry rot, ride hard and should be replaced before driving any distance. The alloy wheels are in perfect condition.
This is an unusual car that really has to seen up close and driven to be appreciated. If you're a fan of French cars, diesels or just unique cars you might want to take a look. You won't find another like it. Call, text or email if you would like more photos and information or would like to take it for a drive.

  1. Lovely condition, but in order to own long-term, maintenance and parts might become a problem and it might be better to sell it in Europe where it will be able to be appreciated?
