JDM Family: 1988 Nissan Skyline R31 Wagon

The Skyline name was first used by the Prince Motor Company in 1957 on their Dagmar bumper equipped luxury sedan.  A few years later, Prince merged with Nissan and the Skyline name became associated with Nissan's fast sports sedans, culminating with the GT-R release in 1969.  Many years later the GT-R Skyline (or Skyline GT-R?) name has become synonymous with Japanese speed and style, but there are many Skyline sedans that aren't turbocharged or all-wheel-drive...but are still cool nonetheless. Find this 1988 Nissan Skyline R31 Wagon offered for $4,250 in Silver Spring, MD via craigslist. Tip from Aaron K.

This car is very clean and has been well maintained and well cared for.
The Body is very straight and clean with No Rust.
The paint is very nice and shiny. All of the doors, the hood and the hatch open and close well with good panel fitment. All of the glass is in good shape. All of the locks work well.
It has the original factory wheels with a nice set of Bridgestone tires.

The interior is in very good shape. The seats, door panels, carpet, dash and headliner are in nice shape. There are no rips or tears and it shows minimal wear. There are a few faded spots on the carpet and a few minor stains. Some wear on the a/c-heater panel.

The car runs and drives well. It is reliable and starts right up.

The LD20 Diesel engine provides good power and great fuel economy. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. The Air Conditioner works well and the heat is very good too.

Radio is not working.
Rear hatch struts are worn and could use replacement.
There is a belt that squeals intermittently.

Drive and enjoy this car as it is or take it to the next level.
It is a great candidate for an RB or an SR swap.

See a cooler piece of wagon glass?

  1. It certainly is unique - I had no idea they even made a Skyline Diesel. But with a non turbo four cylinder Diesel, I have to wonder if you'd get smoked (in multiple senses of the word) if you tried to race a Mercedes 300D.

  2. So many cars, so little timeOctober 26, 2018 at 11:50 AM

Certainly unique, and in my back yard. If I had a bigger driveway (wouldn't consider taking up garage space with this) and more indulgent wife, I'd consider picking this up for the oddball hell of it.

  3. You had me until "diesel".....
