  1. Wasn't this BMW's version of the lower W123 Benzes; under stressed, de-tuned engine, and supposedly built to last forever?
    This one seems to be aging so well it makes you wonder if there is an really ugly oil painting of it locked away in some closet.

    Yes, the 528e and 325e had the eta engine -- low/slow revving, low-end grunt, good fuel economy. Basically a gas-powered diesel and just as rugged.
