Is This Real? 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner

Prices of classic Mopar 2-doors busted through the roof a few decades ago and they are still HOT HOT HOT, but finding an original paint Roadrunner with a 383 V8 and 4-speed manual for less than $20,000 is really good.  If you don't buy this car...well...somebody else will flip it.  Find this 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner offered for $18,000 in Warsaw, KY via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

From the seller:
Purple road runner original paint. New tires clutch and more. Runs good but needs tune up. Has purple seats with Chrysler logo embroidered. Has 383 4 speed manual. Rare car

    1. Did you know that before Chrysler considered "Plum Crazy" for its psycho purple hue, it originally came up with "Statutory Grape", but wisely went back to the drawing board..

  2. "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't." Learned that lesson years ago with a "bargain" Austin Healey, which looked beautiful and was an amazing deal, only to find out it was dying from terminal rust. As for this car: it is very easy to make a fake Roadrunner, using a lesser Plymouth model. Price is too low, which is a major red flag.

  3. Actually, 18k is pretty typical in ruralia for a worn-out survivor RR like this. There's still a chance that this is a dressed-up and engine-swapped Satellite that originally had a 318, however.
