Original Mobster: 1967 Triumph 2000 Mk1

The Triumph 2000/2500/2.5PI was a mid-sized family saloon car built in the UK from 1963 through 1977. It featured stylish sheet metal penned by Giovanni Michelotti (BMW New Class, DAF/Volvo trucks, Triumph Spitfire, and various Ferrari/Maserati things) and guts assembled by the Triumph Motor Company. Find this 1967 Triumph 2000 Mk1 offered for $15,000 on the SF Bay Area craigslist but located near Portland, OR.  Tip from FuelTruck.

 From the seller:

Immaculate original Triumph 2000 stands as it left the factory. Over 30 years ownership by the Oregon Triumph club president.

Car has never left Oregon with original purchase 1968 papers, it has the pedigree of a great classic car. It has been religiously maintained with recent upkeep of $2,200 this summer by British Motor Care in Portland OR.

Odometer reading is 70K with an engine rebuild in late 2000s. Everything works in the car and runs like a dream. Windshield is cracked on the lower hand side.

The car maintains its original paint, interior, trim and engine. Can be driven anywhere.

I have been told that is a very rare car in the U.S and one if not the best here.

  1. Never knew these existed. Nice looking car and would be fun to drive with 6 cylinder and manual transmission. Body style reminds me of an Isuzu Bellett. Nice interior with wood accents. Probably sounds good with the cheeky glasspack muffler. (because... OG mobster)

  2. The problem with buying an oddball car is: you have to find SOMEONE ELSE, who also loves that oddball car, when you want to sell it! My father in law found this out, when he tried to sell his Triumph TR-7: no one would buy it, so he ended up giving it away!

    1. The BAT/DT/BF vintage car internet has ameliorated this problem to great extent.
