Vitesse Dépréciation: 1997 Range Rover 4.6 H.S.E.

Here is the scenario -- you aren't a rap star, or Kardashian...but you love to wear sweat pants outside your living room and want TMZ photogs to take your pictures...but you aren't sure what to drive?  Perhaps you can rent a Bugatti...but that isn't a sure thing..what you REALLY need is a 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE Vitesse Edition offered for $8990 somewhere in Upstate New York. From Cory.

From the seller:
This truck is in AMAZING condition!!! Rare Vitesse Edition... 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with only 64,000 original miles! No, this is not a typo... Really need to see to appreciate! The interior looks new. The headliner is starting to sag a bit but that is it. You will not be disappointed! There are very few around like this so I am firm on my price. Please call or text if you're seriously interested in buying a unique vehicle. Title in hand!

See a better way to go quick?

  1. Do you ever have just a part of a car you like? I like the wheels.

  2. And spend $3500/year keeping the piece of shit running.

Had a 2001 I bought off-lease in 2003. It was a magnificent POS. The 4.6 is a good engine until the cylinders liners slip out, and it's not a matter of if they slip out, its when.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

  4. I don't know that $3500/year is a lot to keep a 20 year old vehicle on the road, at least until you sort through the major stuff. Is it?

    1. It’s about an order of magnitude more than I would spend but I like doing my own work. The flossiness of these make them the definition of “deferred maintenance” in my experience.
