What Am I? Eyes Up Here

It is Monday morning, and time to solve the weekly What Am I? puzzle, and today we've got another hunk of metal that you need to identify.

Dig deep and solve this puzzle.  What am I? Comments below.

    1. I'll see your DKW and raise you with a hip text IDK!

  3. -___-

    DKW Schnellaster

Does that help my statement? :P

    1. I was kidding with you as I had no idea what it was. I figured it was some German military vehicle but IDK means I Don't Know and yes I'm familiar with DKW (the anagram that we used for a '63 DKW 2 stroke was "Damn Kool Wonder ...that it runs" Perhaps it makes better sense with the explanation, but the humor has definitely been squashed out of it.
Also knowing Vince's penchant for misdirection, I suspect you have the win as it looks like an upside down me..

    2. Longlivekei -- yes, it is a DKW Schnellmaster van with the hood up. Find it bidding here on ebay bidding for $10k.

Great job, how did you figure it out?

      DT E-i-C Vince.

  4. I believe the pic is of the back side of the hood as it is open.
As for the IDK joke.. I got it : P
    Just messing with you.

  5. I think you guys got it.

    DKW on Ebay

Bonus, it's using bits from an aircooled VW, cousin by marriage (DKW -> Auto Union -> Audi -> VWAG).

    1. Whoop--yeah, sorry was away from the internet for a while today.
