Hammer Time: 2007 Pontiac Solstice Mallet LS2 V8

There is an old expression about bringing a knife to a gun fight, but I think this next car is closer to the concept of bringing a hammer to a knife fight.  Just don't get bent outta shape if you smash a few fingers with this next beast.  Find this 2007 Pontiac Solstice Mallet LS2 V8 here on eBay bidding for $6,800 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go, located in Mesa, AZ.

From the seller:
this Solstice was purchased new and shipped straight to Mallet for the LS2 conversion, it is number 006 of 128, it has the big brake package and the air conditioning package. 14,184 original box A miles, garaged its whole life, the convertible top looks and functions like new. Penske carbon fiber shocks

  3. Hmmm. Ebay seller has a 92% satisfaction rating, pics are all low resolution with a two sentence description ... and I still totally want this more than I can justify.

  4. I get the appeal here I think, but isn't this a pretty complicated way of doing corvette?

    1. My thoughts exactly. I kinda see it a way to save a 240z or RX7 from an LS swap.

  5. Seller clearly letting the pics do the talking. The interiors of these are their biggest let down as “acres of hard plastic” dominates. Cool idea in the vein of Euro chassis/American 8-pot iterations of yore, though.
