Call Me Camero One More Time: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z

The last time I posted a low mile Chevrolet Camaro and had the gall to insinuate that the 3rd gen F-body was not yet (if ever gonna be) a collectible, I got the brunt end of some IROC hate.  Today, I'm not going to make that same mistake, and I'm only going to say nice things about this mullet-mobile.  Ooops.  Find this 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z here on eBay bidding for $10,107 with 1 day to go.

I'm going to use the defense that everybody who is ever accused of being some kind of <insert_designation_here>-ist uses...I can't be <insert_designation_here>-ist, I've got friends who are <insert_designation_here>.  I can't be a Camarist, I've owned a Camaro.  See how easy that was? Mel Gibson should call me the next time he goes on a bender and I'll talk him through the process for a small fee.  And that one guy said I'd never make money with this website...shows what he knows.

Anyway, the 3rd generation Camaro was built from 1982 through 1992 and this International Race of Champions version should have a 350 L98 V8 good for around 225 horsepower and 330 ft-lbs of torque.  It should be enough to smoke a stock Mustang from the same year.

See a better way to drive a Camero?

  1. If it has a factory manual tranmission it cannot be a 5.7 350

2.'d be the 305 (and it says so in the listing too).

  3. I Reek Of Cologne (drakkar or ck one most likely)

This is a super clean example. The cool kids had these or 5.0 back in the good ol' days.
I have publicly luster after having one but have never pulled the trigger. I may be too much of a middle aged yuppie to fully enjoy it.

  4. And for fun, here's the first time I remember this gen Camaro registering with me....its' the Miami Vice pilot episode. Got fast boats on my 10 year old radar at the time too. I've scratched the fast boat itch multiple times....probably ought to take care of the Camaro one soon too before they spike.
