Wrong Side Drive: 1986 Mitsubishi Pajero Diesel

Production of the first generation Nissan Pajero started for the 1982 model year where it was initially available as a 3-door short wheelbase hill climber...and I've always said that your first instinct is usually your best...and it was true for Mitsubishi.  Find this 1986 Mitsubishi Pajero Diesel offered for $6,500 in Santa Rosa, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

The Renaulty Spot: Collection of Renaults

What is better than a classic Renault offered at an estate/garage/junk sale?  How about a collection of 20 of them offered for who knows how much money.  Find this collection of Renaults offered for an undisclosed sum of money in Monticello along with a 1980 Archer T5 replica for $12,500 via craigslist.  Tip from Munky.

Almost 4th of July: 1961 Ford Falcon 4X4

I've been mentally preparing for the 4th of July, when the DT tips inbox gets flooded with the most Muricanest beasts to travel across roads that line the amber waves of grain.  But...what I wasn't prepared for was something that would be able to travel across the amber waves of grain with equal aplomb.  Find this 1961 Ford Falcon 4X4 offered for $5,700 near Huntsville, AL.  Tip from Rock On!

Smokin' Deal: 1991 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat

In yesterday's Mid Week Match-Up for FTB, there were a few great finds (including a notable 2x4 armrest) but the best was a clean looking Ford F-150 offered for a very reasonable pile of cash. Find this 1991 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat offered for $2,100 in Columbus, OH via craigslist. Tip from Pcar928gt.

Thursday Twister: Given Up

Welcome to the  Thursday Twister, -- our weekly session of crossfit for the mind. Today I want to ask the question -- what car announces to the world that you have given up?

HiPo V8 Powered: 1973 Triumph TR6

The Triumph TR6 was a small roadster introduced by those crazy Brits in Coventry in 1969 to replace the TR5/TR250 which was really just a slight change to the TR4...etc etc.  The TR6 did last thru 1976 when it was replaced with the wedge shaped and unloved TR7 and it was always powered by a decently powerful inline-6...until today.  Find this 1973 Triumph TR6 V8 offered for $12,500 in Julian, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Muscle Mayhem: 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG

Remember when 2-door muscle cars were cheap?  Yeah.  I do too!  It was a long time ago...but thankfully the muscle car wars of the late 1960s were re-enacted in the early 2000s, so the glory days of cheap muscle is upon us today! Find this 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG offered for $3,500 in Lake Balboa, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Sean S.

Unlikely Stick: 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

Remember when Oldsmobile sold the Alero in the 2000s in a sporty coupe version with a 5-speed manual gearbox?  Yeah.  Me neither...but apparently it was a thing.  Find this 2003 Oldsmobile Alero offered for $1,600 in Anchorage, AK.  Tip from Zach Z.

Mid Week Match-Up: Truck For FTB

This week's Mid Week Match-Up is for DT regular Fleetwood T. Brougham who writes from the Nashville, TN area with the following request:. I’m looking for a beater work truck, the kind that lives in the far corners of my driveway, never sees the inside of a garage, and is used for hauling mulch, limbs (the arboreal kind, not human), runs to the dump, and kayaks.

Some Assy Required: 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The Subaru Impreza was first imported to the USofA in the 1993 model year, and the sporty WRX version wasn't available until the year 2000 and it wasn't until 2004 that the STI version was available.  And there was much rejoicing.  Find this 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI offered for $10,500 in Reisterstown, MD via craigslist. Tip from Jeff S.

Museum Ad nauseam: 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Base

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The only low mile & reasonably priced examples of any cars are always going to be equipped with the most undesirable of engine /transmission /trim /options.  I think if the car had been remotely fun or interesting to drive, the owner would have found some time to cruise around...but not today. .  Find this 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Base with 8,000 miles on the odometer offered for $6,500 in Cape Coral, FL via craigslist.  Tip from Dascpcu.

Thumb drive: 1989 Peugeot 405 MI-16

It's kind of sad that the French are only represented in the U.S. car market via Nissan.  Unfortunately it has been over a quarter century since the last French car was sold on U.S. soil.  Here's the last new model French car that marked the end of the line for French cars in America.  Not a bad way to go...  Find this 1989 Peugeot 405 MI-16 for sale in Seattle, WA for $2,499 (because $2,500 was a dollar too much) via craigslist.

Saabronco: 1958 Saab 96 Monster Truck

The Saab 96 is known for its WRC victories in the International Swedish Rally (1973 with Stig Blomqvist/Arne Hertz, and 1976 with Per Eklund/Björn Cederberg) which was in no part due to the cars basic ruggedness and front-wheel-drive traction in icy conditions...HOWEVER..that doesn't mean it would make a good monster truck.  Or would it? Find this 1958 Saab 96 Monster Truck offered for $2,900 near Nashville, TN. Tip from Fleetwood T. Brougham.

Old School Party: 1980 Ford Fiesta

Ford has never had much of a reputation for building small cars in the USA.  The first generation euro import Fiesta was only sold over here from 1978-1981.  These cars were wildly popular in Europe and seem to be a far superior drivers car than the Escort that followed it.  Today's Fiesta seller has one of the most honest opening lines I have seen in a CL ad when he says, "Due to life kicking us in the balls, I have to sell my beloved project car."  Find this 1980 Ford Fiesta for sale in Rollinsford, NH for $2,900 via craigslist.

Auction Watch: 1931 Ford Model A Truck

Find this 1931 Ford Model A Truck here on eBay bidding for $8,495 reserve-not-met with 4 days to go, located in Millstone Township, NJ.

What Am I? Keystone Cops

It is Monday morning, time to fire up the BBQ grill and drop the contents of DT's shredder into the fire because the stuff we don't publish is REALLY bad.  It is also time for the weekly What Am I? puzzle...I know...can't it get any better!??!

Domesticated: 1965 Sunbeam Alpine

The Alpine was released in 1959 as part of the Rootes Group offering in their Sunbeam brand, but it used a modified floorpan from a Hillman Husky sedan but with a stylish convertible body.  A few years later the Alpine got legs when the Tiger version was released with V8 power, but those are now traded between wealthy collectors and now regular folks have to settle for the 4-banger version.  Find this 1965 Sunbeam Alpine offered for $10,000 in Albuquerque, NM via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Word Play: 1968 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon

Sometimes you I need to know when you just shut up and listen...this is one of those posts.  Find this 1968 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon offered for $3,500 in SF Bay Area, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Zach Z.

Hess & Eisenhardt: 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12

Jaguar built their XJ-S replacement for the gorgeous E-Type starting in 1975, and if you were a rich/distinguished buyer at the time, you would have noticed something conspicuously absent from the order sheet options.  Where did the convertible (the best looking E-Type) go when they designed the XJ-S?  Find this 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 offered for $9,500 near Nashville, TN via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!
