3 On The Tree: 1959 Ford F100

Production of the 3rd generation F-Series started in 1957 and only lasted a few years before it was phased out in 1961.  It was a much more modern truck than its predecessor and featured fenders integrated into the body. Find this 1959 Ford F100 offered for $8,400 in Bonita Springs, FL via craigslist.

Auction Watch: 1973 Pontiac Ventura GTO Clone

Find this 1973 Pontiac Ventura GTO Clone here on eBay bidding for $7,405 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go, located in Russellville, AL.

Street Taco: 1970 Bultaco Matador Mk III

I have to thank E-i-C Vince for taking my Taco Tuesday spot last week while I was visiting the Kingdom of the Giant Mouse.  Now back to our regularly scheduled programming featuring a Taco you can ride on the street and is the business (but not a business).  Find this 1970 Bultaco Matador Mk III for sale in Montrose, CO for $3,500 via craigslist.

Mardi Grass Cutter: 1926 Ford Model T Hot Rod

Just time for Fat Tuesday: The Ford Model T hot rod is an iconic car -- and not just because it revolutionized automotive production technique, but because Ford put 16 million on the road at a time when the horse was still running around and cars were things for rich people.  You don't see many original Tin Lizzies on the road today, but you will find the occasional hot rod just looking for a few strip of road to terrorize.  Find this 1926 Ford Model T Hot Rod offered for $8,900 in Zachary, LA. Tip from Rock On!

Total Crap or Totally Cool? 1989 Chrysler TC Maserati

Tip and intro words by Rod444 --  Ok it's not a whole lot different than a K car of the same era but how many people can say they own a Maserati convertible for 3500? This is one of those cars that should not have been advertised with top on, as  the proportions and style become considerably more attractive with it off (same as my wife).  Find this 1989 Chrysler TC Maserati offered for $3,500 in Anthem, AZ via craigslist.

What Are Cold? 1994 Porsche 968

The Porsche 968 was the ultimate version of Porsche's infatuation with watercooled transaxle equipped front-engine cars starting with the 924 and 928 back in the 1970s.  Values are on the uptick as the market for sub $20k Porsches has been entirely vacated by the aircooled 911 which values each headlight at around $20k, so buy one now before they also go nuts. Find this 1994 Porsche 968 here on eBay bidding for $13,000 with a buy-it-now of $18,000 located in Jacksonville, FL with 6 days to go.

What Am I? Another Chance

For the first time in a long time, the What Am I? puzzle went unsolved last week -- so I'm going to give you guys another chance to solve this one.  Here is another view.

Acacado Sleeper: 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sedan

The real trick about building a sleeper is to start with a car that is predominately driven by old geezers (sorry, no offense to the geezers in the audience...it's the truth) and then keep it simple.  No racing slicks or monster exhaust, just a vinyl top and enough carburetion to feed a B-17 Flying Fortress at bombing altitude.  Find this

Handyman Conversion: 2005 Ford E350 Van

If you are in the market for a causal camping vehicle, you might be tempted to get a full-time camper conversion or get an actual Winnebago, but I think you'll find a few big negatives. First, is that if you don't have covered parking, it will upset your neighbors (particularly in parking restricted urban areas) and second it is worthless for anything other than camping.  And thieves know they are easy pickin' because of minimal security features and are typically filled with easily fenced stuff.  What you REALLY need to get for camping is a heavy duty work truck. Like this 2005 Ford E350 Van here on eBay offered for $6,800 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Richmond, VA.

Parts Bin Bonaza: 1962 Ford Falcon Futura 5.0 T5

Some cars just don't get the respect that they deserve.  This lack of respect manifests itself into head scratchingly low asking prices.  The Ford Falcon is widely known as the redheaded step child to the Ford Mustang.  Today's 1962 Falcon has been extensively hot-rodded using parts from multiple Ford models over the last four decades.  Find this 1962 Ford Falcon Futura for sale in Ballston Spa, NY for $7,800 via craigslist.

Rocket V8: 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88

Headlights are the eyeballs of automobiles -- and in the world of those eyeballs there are a few strange looking examples.  For instance, the Morgan Aero8 has a cross eyed look and the Mazda RX-7 has always looked sleepy with pop-ups, but this next car is seriously confused.  Find this 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 here on eBay offered for $4,500 near Phoenix, AZ via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

Repeat Offender: 1974 Fiberfab Aztec

This next car jumped out of the page when I first saw the listing, and not because it is a crazy red car from bizarro world with a tatted up model sitting on the clamshell...but because I'd seen this car before.  Oh yes.  Everything old is new again.  Find this 1974 Fiberfab Aztec II offered here on eBay bidding for $9,500 reserve-not-met located in Las Vegas, NV with 4 days to go.

Coffee Brake: Off Topic

Happy Friday -- time for another off topic Coffee Brake. Let's open up the comments to anything you might want to discuss. Go ahead. Discuss among yourselves.

You Spin Me Right Round: 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE

The first generation RX-7 (SA/FB built in Japan from 1978 to 1985) was a interesting highlight in the sports car world of the early 80s.  The RX-7's light weight frame was propelled by a unique engine - the Mazda rotary.   Find this 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE offered for $3,500 in Sahuarita, AZ via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

King of the K: 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T

You probably won't impress your neighbors or country club members driving the fastest four door sedan sold in the USA for 1991.  The Spirit R/T also has the distinction of being the quickest K-car ever produced by Chrysler which is akin to being the valedictorian of summer school.  The Spirit doesn't have sexy bodywork, but on the bright side it does have the 2.2 Series 3 turbo engine.  The Lotus designed four valve head that produced a 224 hp and 210 lbs of torque at only 2800 rpm.  The only available transmission was the A-568 5 speed which helped the car pull off 14.5 1/4 mile times.  Dodge only sold 1,208 of these for 1991 so they are near extinct twenty five years later.  Find this 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T for sale in Stratford, CT for $3,500 via craigslist.

Auction Watch: 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Find this 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo here on eBay bidding for $8,300 located in Boaz, AL with 4 days to go.

VTEC: 1982 Austin Mini

The original Mini was produced for an insanely long period of time -- 41 years to be precise -- with only minor changes. However, it was always a pokey little puppy, even in the hottest of Clubman 1275 GT trim, so if you want to go fast, you'll need to find a modified example.  Like this 1982 Austin Mini offered for $12,000 in Phoenix, AZ via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

V8 Conversion: 1974 Jaguar XJ12

I know that Chevy V8 powered Jags are supposed to be looked up with a heavy dose of scorn and purist rage, but I just can't help but smile.  The best part about this one is how clean it looks -- you'd never guess that an ill-mannered carburetor fed thing lives under the hood.  Find this 1974 Jaguar XJ12 offered for $3,900 in Edgewood, KY via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!
