Auction Watch: 1960 Ford Starliner Base

Find this 1960 Ford Starliner Base here on eBay bidding for $9,400 reserve-not-met with 1 day to go.

From eBay:

1960 FORD Starliner 2 door hardtop. 5 year old paint. Some rust bubbles coming thru on paint but it still shows well. Rebuilt 390 replaced the 352 two years ago. Stock transmission was rebuilt at that time. Full custom white interior and carpet installed 5 years ago. Coils cut 1 1/4 all around to lower car. Steering and front suspension rebuilt this year. Car is a daily driver for me. I have another 30's Ford I am finishing up to replace this car so it's now up for sale. I have most of the parts I took off the car like the door handles, trim, scripts, etc. I also have door and trunk rubber, etc. If you are looking for a nice cruiser, this one is extremely cool. If you want a starliner to put back to stock, this is a great car for that. Car is sold as a USED car so be advised, this is my daily driver, NOT a rotisserie restoration. I built it to drive it and that is what has been done for the last 5 years. Car is for sale locally so it may get taken off this site. See close of auction details for email info.

  1. Ever try and guess a car's location by one small picture? I guessed Salinas CA.

  2. Newport Beach California. Read the sellers retort to a buyer comment on the sellers shaving of the door handles, the chulo steering wheel etc.Hilarious! Apparently the seller thinks of himself as a rebel as opposed to a guy recycling the tiredest of custom car memes. That said the Starliner is a beautiful form. If you want a custom here it is. I'd rather find an original without the Pelican Bay steering wheel.

    1. Haha, that is some good banter. I don't know what kind of response one would be looking for when insulting a direction on a build. I wish I could see what the two look like in this conversation.

    2. I read it slightly differently, I think the seller and the questioner are friends. I would never put my cars up on Ebay because I have too many friends who would troll me with comments like that. I'd be able to tell who they were, which would give me license to be extra harsh in my replies. Only someone's best friends or the truly lonely troll the eBay ads.

  3. He had me at "chain link steering wheel". But to say something positive, I really do like the clean styling on that year of Ford. The roof pillars give a nice light look to the car. And it still has some of the 50s flair (read: Tail Fins!), but somehow toned down a bit.
