The S130 generation Datsun/Nissan Z-car is easily the least expensive of cars to wear the sign of the masked bandit, but this 280ZX is extremely expensive -- just what is going on here? Is this another insanely optimistic seller trying to fleece money from the unsuspecting public, or is this an example of the value of being unique? Find this 1982 Datsun 280ZX Turbo Pace Car offered for $21,900 in Apple Valley, CA via craigslist.
What do cops need in a cop bike? Comfort and reliability. Make all the Italian jokes you want (see below), but the Moto Guzzi Ambassador and its Eldorado predessor fit that bill for many police departments in the late 60's/ early 70's. The LAPD was one to make a few that ran a large fleet Guzzi's in the 70's. Find this 1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador Police Model for sale in Seattle, WA for $4,200 via craigslist.
When you need a car and have less than $500 to spend, you are going to end up scraping the bottom of the barrel -- but you will find some craigslist gold in the crusty stuff lurking down there. Just be sure to have your trailer at the ready and be sure to look for the good ones that ran when they were last parked. Like this 1989 Chrysler New Yorker offered for $400 in Vallejo, CA via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy.
The Suzuki Cappuccino was introduced for the 1987 model year as an attempt to add some sportiness to the Suzuki lineup in native Japan. In a photograph it looks like a Mazda MX-5 competitor, but with a total length of only 129 inches and a 1598 lb curb weight, the Cappuccino was closer to a go-kart and it conformed to Japan's Kei (Keijidosha light car) regulations that gave buyers a tax break and easier license/insurance requirements. Find this 1991 Suzuki Cappuccino offered for $8,809 FOB via tradecarview.com. Tip from FuelTruck.

The Pontiac Fiero was given a mid engine setup and an Italian name that meant "proud", so why not fulfill that destiny by converting your Fiero to Fauxrarri...or save your cash and buy one that is already eye-tallion. Like this black 1984 Pontiac Fiero offered for $4,500 or this red 1985 Pontiac Fiero offered for $8,500, both in Anchorage, AK from the same seller via craigslist. Tips from Zach.
We tend to keep things lighthearted around the pages of DT, but today is Memorial Day in the United States, a day when we remember the fallen heroes of wars past and present. The holiday was officially assigned to the last Monday in May during the 1960s, but started after the US Civil War and was known as Decoration Day (a day to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers).
There comes a time in a man's life when he has to admit that he has outgrown the lifted 4X4 cars of his youth, and needs a van to haul around his growing family. It isn't a easy decision, but it is something that you need to do for the sake of the kids...or do you? Find this 1984 Dodge Caravan 4X4 offered for $9,500 near Nashville, TN via craigslist. Tip from Carl.
In 1955 Ford introduced a new stylish full sized sedan to keep up with Chevrolet's fast selling Bel Air, but it was mostly similar to the 1952 Ford under the skin. The base engine was the Mileage Maker 6, but you could pay a few more bucks to get a V8 -- however, today's example has a much more modern Ford V8 under the hood. Find this 1955 Ford 2-Door Club offered for $16,500 located in Cape Coral, FL via craigslist. Tip from dascpcu.

Imagine for a minute that you
are insane want the comfort and reliability of a 90s Explorer combined with the looks of a '52 Studebaker and faux wood sides of various classic woodies. Taken alone each one of these things is perfectly good, but combined it sounds like a plate of deep fried gummy bears covered in BBQ sauce or a zydeco/punk rock Britney Spears tribute band. Take a look a this 1992 Ford Explorer Sudebaker Woodie Lookalike offered for $2,700 near Anchorage, AK via craigslist. Tip from Zach.
The C3 generation Corvette is the ugly redheaded step cousin of the Vette world -- stuck in the back row at Corvette car shows and regularly given swirlies in the locker room toilet. However, if you want an affordable Vette from the 1960s, the C3 is just about the only way to go, and if you want to modify a Corvette into a shooting brake, it might as well be a C3. Find this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Breadvan offered for $20,000 in Junction City, KY via craigslist. Tip from Seant.

This week on the Daily Turismo Radio Show we have Andrew P Collins from Jalopnik's Truck Yeah talk to us about trucks, sports cars, skiing in costume, almost getting killed by kangaroos, and the state of automotive journalism in the 21st century. Listen below or directly on PodBean or iTunes.
Starting in the late 1990s, cars with retro styling cues have become big sellers in the US. The retro car trend did not originate in America, however. PT Cruisers, Prowlers, SSRs, HHRs, Crossfires, VW Beetles, Fiat 500s, Mustangs, Camaros and Minis all owe something to this early pioneer of the nostalgic aesthetic movement. Find this 1990 Nissan Pao for sale in Omaha, NE for $5,500 via craigslist.
The Dodge Shadow and Plymouth Sundance were entirely underwhelming econoboxes sold to the masses from 1987 through 1994. Even the nicest all original Shadowdance isn't worth more than acheap flashlight from Harbor Freight, and most have ended up in junk yards or crushed However, a precious few were given a touch of something interesting from the legendary chicken farmer/racer Carroll Shelby-- and those ones are worth preserving. Find this 1987 Shelby CSX Turbo offered for $4,500 in Duarte, CA via craigslist.

The E30 generation BMW 3-series was the breakout story for BMW's mainstream domestic success -- sort of the automotive equivalent of the Beatles' A Hard Day's Night. Sure, BMW had large scale success with the 2002 & E21 (and the Beatles with Please Please Me & With the Beatles) but the Bayerische Motoren Werke sold 2.4 million E30s from 1982 through 1993. It was the beginning of BMWmania. Find this 1991 BMW 318i M62 here on eBay bidding for $2,550 reserve-not-met located in Miwaukee, WI with 8 days to go.
