In 1993 the Cadillac Fleetwood name was somewhat returned to its former glory when it was pulled off the front-drive C-body platform and plopped onto the rear-drive D-body shared with Buick Roadmaster, Chevy Caprice/Impala SS, and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. For the post part, the Fleetwood is a certified grandpa machine, but occasionally you'll find a grandpa with a death wish. Like this 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham offered fro $8,000 in Oklahoma City, OK via craigslist.
It might not look like much from the outside -- vinyl top, gold/silver two-tone paint, plus sized wheels...but under the skin this is indeed a modified machine. And not just a hopped up engine, this is the complete package with tubular control arms and a fancy positrac rear end.
Under the hood is a 383 cubic inch version of the LT1 V8 that has been modified to produce 425 horsepower and probably a similar amount of torque. This is going to be a fun.
The big pushrod brute is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox for your driving pleasure -- and with a nicely preserved interior it should make for a comfortable cruiser to boot.
