A Good Year: 1974 MG Midget

The MG Midget was first released in 1961 with 99% of its parts shared with the Mk II Austin-Healey Sprite, but by the end of production (1980) it was a strange rubber bumpered antique that was long in the tooth and short on speed.  However, early versions had both style and reflexes, like this 1974 MG Midget offered for $3,000 in San Antonio, TX via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

The '74 MG Midget is, at 1600 lbs, a certified lightweight, but with a small 1.3 liter inline-4 that made only 55 horsepower (in US spec 8:1 compression), you are going to be grateful the car is small.  These later year Midgets with round wheel arches (the '74-80 restyled cars have squared off rear wheel arches and give rubber proboscis bumpers).
