Survivor: 1940 Ford Standard Business Coupe

The 1940 Ford Coupe was flathead-V8 powered classic that shared most of its major components with the 1937/1938/1939 Fords, but it sported a new flat-top hood and some grill changes to differentiate it from its older siblings.  Find this 1940 Ford Standard Business Coupe here on eBay bidding for $11,500 reserve-not-met with a $15,900 buy-it-now, located in Perkasie, PA.

The classic '37-'40 Ford Coupe enjoys a large owner community, icon status anywhere you go, and healthy aftermarket support for just about any part you'd ever need...and this one might have some needs.  The seller is cagey about the status, calling it a barn find, but then saying it is solid and drove 1/8th of a mile in his driveway.  Not exactly a glowing review of its roadworthiness....

Under the hood is either a 60 horsepower 2.2 liter or 85 horsepower 3.6 liter Ford Flathead V8...which unfortunately I can't tell apart from the pictures provided or the seller's description.

See a cheaper way to cruise in a bonafide classic with good bones?
