What Am I? Riveting

Two weeks ago we had a What Am I? that took a full week to solve (and I even had to provide an additional picture), so that was too hard...but last week's What Am I? was solved in a few hours, unexpectedly, by an Anonymous sleuth extraordinaire.

What does this all mean?  Absolutely nothing.  Solve today's puzzle for unlimited internet credits. What car is in the picture above. Comments below.

A bonus image added 9/5 to help solve the puzzle.

  1. was going to say armored or military car, but the rivets and stainless steel suggest maybe a train?

  2. Pantographic wiper arms on a bus or a boat of some sort? Not the answer, but:

    1. Yes, no. We're up against a 'car,' but I was with your thoughts here. Car, eh?

  3. I was expecting it to be Speedycop's Spirit of Lemons Beechcrapcan, but he didn't need no stinkin' wipers!

  4. It's gotta be a race car with those rivets and single wiper assist. I picture a super huge curvy Italian windshield

  5. My first thought was some kind of obscure microcar. Or something crazy like the Dymaxion (it's not that). Maybe even something amphibious?

    1. I too thought of the Dymaxion but was surprised when I saw how segmented the front glass was. Glad I'm not the only one who went down that rabbit-hole.

  7. Frua Minivan - alas the wiper is not mounted in the windshield frame

  8. I'm wondering if it is something military based on the desert sand color and the riveted body. Checked Humvees quick, but that's not it...

  9. The staining above the wiper posts in the photo makes it seem as if it may be up-side-down...

As does the windshield washing spray nozzle thing in the upper left. Unless it's a rear window.

  21. You are evil but I finally figured it out. Jeep FJ Fleetvan. Can't find the one you've pictured though! That was brutal.

    1. Zedo -- YES, great job -- the car in question is indeed an FJ Fleetvan (never heard of them before I stumbled on this one that failed to meet reserve at auction a few weeks back). Find it here on eBay.

I hope you guys enjoyed the hunt as much as I enjoyed dangling meat on a hook...not so much meat as a small piece of beef jerky...in a zip-top bag.

      Well done!

  22. Very nice! I'm a bit of a Jeep fan, and I never would have guessed this to be a Jeep product. I'm not sure what was more shocking - the fact that it is a Jeep, or the fact that the seller feels that it worth north of $6700. Keep up the great work!
