The Ford Laser might have been just a badge engineered version of the Mazda 323/Protege built under license, but this one is the rare turbocharged and 4WD version that borrowed much of its mojo from the Mazda Familia GT-X.
The 1.8 liter DOHC Mazda BPT 4-banger puts out 157 horsepower and 152 ft-lbs of torque, which might not wow anybody in the 21st century, but it would put a smile on your face in the early 90s.
Nothing spectacular to see on the inside, but the cloth seats look good and the aftermarket Momo steering wheel fits the interior style nicely.
See another 25 year old oddball that just needs some importation? tips@dailyturismo.com
