I'm selling my 1974 Triumph TR6.
Possibly the most rare TR6 around, with Factory Overdrive AND Original Dealer installed Air Conditioning,...both working perfectly. A/C blows cold and the electric overdrive works perfectly. The car also comes with FREE delivery up to 300 miles of Birmingham, Alabama, (once paid in full and payment clears).
This is a very nice driver quality car. Nice shiny paint, Good interior, Newer top, New wheels & Tires and many upgrades. Not new nor a $20K restored trailer queen...but a good looking car you can jump in and drive, and presents well. This car underwent a restoration a few years ago, but has been used as a driver ever since. Still looks and presents well, but does show age and use.
PAINT & BODY- The car is the original color of Mimosa Yellow. It looks to have been resprayed, but no time recently. The paint looks very nice and shines very well. Looks like new from 5 to 10 feet away..but normal minor imperfections can be seen under closer inspection, as you would expect for a driver quality car. Has one small ding on the right rear upper quarter, as can be seen in the pictures. Car looks very nice and shines well.
ELECTRICAL- Head lights bright and dim, park lights, tag lights, brake lights, dash lights, turn signals, windshield wipers...even the interior light works. No electrical problems.
INTERIOR- The interior is very good as well, with no rips or tears. The seats appear almost new. Door panels look good. Dash pad looks newer with no cracks. The wooden dash has been replaced within the last 6 years and looks very nice. The carpet appears older but does not have any rips or tears and presents well.
TOP- The top looks almost new, with clear windows and no rips or tears. Comes with full tonneau cover and boot as well.
ENGINE- The engine starts right up and runs VERY well. It was completely rebuilt a few years ago with minimal miles since completed. Has great oil pressure and compression. Runs very cool, even with the A/C running. Rebuild included re-bore and new pistons. Crankshaft turned 0-010. New oil pump. All new bearings. New pistons, rods and rings. Rotating assembly balanced. New cam bearings. New 125 HP camshaft. Cylinder head reworked with stainless steel exhaust valves, "Good Guy Valve guides", Teflon seals, upgraded lifters, Rick Patton EFI Fuel Injection conversion, new alloy fuel tank, Gear reduction starter, GM alternator conversion, Heat coated performance exhaust header, High capacity alloy oil pan, Alloy valve cover. The car starts right up, no sputter, no smoke and no unusual noises. Great oil pressure.
GEAR BOX and DIFFERENTIAL- It has the stock 4 spd manual transmission with the factory electric overdrive, (works well). The gear box was rebuilt at the same time as the engine. Gear box is quite and shift smooth. Has upgraded Gunst throw out bearing. New hydraulics with DOT5 silicone fluid. New seals in differential. Differential is smooth and quite.
SUSPENSION- Has new springs front and rear. Upgraded to polyurethane bushings throughout. New upper ball joints. Newer gas shocks up front. Upgraded to rear tube shock conversion on rear. Has Timken upgraded front wheel bearings. The rear trailing arms have been reinforced. the area that is prone to rust looks to have already been repaired with new patch panels welded in. All upgrades and work appear to have been done when the restoration was completed a few years ago. Looks solid. The car steers, handles and brakes well. No problems.
BODY- The body looks nice with no signs of prior accident damage. Looks like new from 5 to 10 feet away, but minor imperfections can be seen under closer inspection, as can be expected with an older driver quality car. It looks as if the floor and rocker panels have been repaired in the past, but they look good now. Appears that someone cut out the rust in the floor and replaced a patch panel. Looks good and is very solid. The rockers look to have been repaired in the past too, but look good now. All looks to have been done when the restoration was completed a few years ago.
WHEELS AND TIRES- The car has new after market Super Lite Wheels with Yokohoma AVID tires. Tires look to have 60% tread life left.
