This is one of those listings that makes you scratch your head and salivate at the same time -- as perplexed as you might be by the terrible photos, this car has no evidence a rust or crumbling paint, isn't dissembled in boxes, and is offered for a bargain price. What you don't see might be what you get...
The seller states that the car is 100% original and stock, but the Wildcat 340 V8 under the hood (originally 220 SAE gross horsepower) is tired and will need some refreshing. Regardless, after a bath and a small engine rebuild this car might be a great deal.

If this car was half the price, and I was in just a little better place, both financially, and geographically, this would be exactly the kind of car I'd be looking for to try my own version of Roadkill with. Fly to Cali, pay for the car and drive it all the way back to Chicago. Smoke and all.
ReplyDeleteBut there is a lot of work to be done here, and with a HS shop class paint job, I think the asking price is a bit ambitious. They couldn't even get it running enough to get it outside for photographs.
HS paint job is one thing HS bondo and sanding is another. That rear fender body line is waving at us...
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are awesome. Its like taking a picture of someone famous and all you see is their left nostril....
ReplyDeleteThe "I only have a few really crummy pictures so I will show them several times each rule of CL art."
ReplyDeleteI like GM mid-size wagons from this era, however, the previous comments were right on. Price is high with smokey engine and D- final grade bondo job.
