Sunday Drive-In: Saab 9000 V8

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a new feature on Daily Turismo, where we highlight sweet (and odd) videos found around the web, and we are going to kick this off with a bang.  A bangin' Saab 9000 with a V8 engine.  Oh ya...the entire video is in Finnish.

My understanding of Finnish is about as good as my understanding of Saab wiring diagrams...which means that you'll have to just watch the video and enjoy the noise of a custom made V8 using a block by Valmet and cylinder heads from the B202 engine.

You can read more about the V8 powered '89 Saab 9000 here on

  1. Replies
    1. How did I managed to not include the ACTUAL video in the post? OOOps. Fix it now.

  2. What the 9000 needed more than a V8 was two more drive wheels.

Given that, the V8 might have made as much sense as a V8 makes in an Audi.

  3. Is this the conceptual proof for Lancia Thema end product?

  4. I'll stick with my 2002 SAAB 9-5 with 285hp from a 2.3 4-cyl.
