Auction Watch: 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7

Check out this 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 here on eBay bidding for $8,100 reserve-not-met located in Mountain Home, AR with bidding ending on Saturday.

  1. That seller has 9 or 10 vehicles from that same collection for sale on ebay right now. All have healthy bidding, none have their reserve met. He either doesn't really want to sell them, or he's got his head up his ass with regard to how much they are worth.

    1. It is not an XR7 as advertised for that matter. It is equipped with a optional "Décor" interior which leaves you without the leather seats, wood grain dash and guage pack with tachometer and rally clock in the console. They never fit a 351 Cleveland block in them in '68 either, which isn't really a bad thing and is probably fits the faux Eliminator paint and trunk wing thing.

These first generation Cougars don't get any respect from the collector market even in pristine original condition, cool as they are.
