Auction Watch: 1962 Willys Interlagos Alpine A108 Somethingorother

Take a look at this 1962 Willys Interlagos Alpine thing here on eBay bidding for $24,108 reserve-not-met with auction ending on Thursday.

Help, somebody stuck a 57 Buick grill on my tail!!

  1. well isn't that an oddball but sounds like a lot of fun without risking your license at insane triple digit speeds

  2. Those tires, do they look really tall and skinny to anyone else?

  3. The surprising thing about these is the size. They are VERY small. 18" shorter in length and 2.5" shorter in height than a VW Karmann Ghia. That's why the tires look tall and skinny - except they aren't actually tall. Two clues: look at the size of the license plate relative to the entire rear end, and look at the front view and imagine sitting in a normal car with the steering wheel at the normal height (not much headroom). I like the looks of these, and love the Willy's connection (although this is missing the best badge - the Willy's name on the rear engine screen), but they are much cheaper in Brazil, and shipping is probably about $3500 including all the fees. They were famous in the racing world - small drivers I guess.

  4. I am and have been oddly attracted to these things since I first came aware of them when reading up on the A110 back in the day.
