Coffee Brake: Lottery Fleet

Today's Coffee Brake comes inspired from AbnMike who writes:  "What car or cars (up to five) that have appeared on DT would you buy and why? The vehicle must have appeared as a feature in a DT post." Imagine for a minute that you've hit the lottery and are now a hundred millionaire.  You can buy any 3-5 cars you want, but they need to be from the pages of DailyTurismo.  What do you pick?

DT Editor Vince quick picks:

I'm going to get the cheap C5 Z06 for a weekend fun trip car, the Hyundai Equus for a family hauler, the Dodge Powerwagon restomod for double duty hauler/classic, and finally the Porsche 912 V8 deathmobile for a track car.

What do you pick? Comments below.

  1. i'd have the Roadmaster converted to Neptunian-standard right-hand drive - one or the other E28 M5 - and then 3 at random, on 30-day rotation

    1. oh, and that scruffy blue Lancia Fulvia Sport from way back that i can't get out of my head - time for the matchbox one to reappear in the header, boss

  2. It is a good question. I think we all fantasize about cars we can afford but would love to own. I always thought someday I would buy a 360 Modena. Just read an article about a guy that saved up and got one and how it really wasn't a good experience.
I could see myself buying a Ford GT, Mercedes 300sl, and a Mclaren p1.
I would probably end up driving an e30 after buying all of this.

  3. 1983 Audi Ur-Quattro. Have wanted one ever since seeing John Buffum drive one at a Pro Rally in 1982.
1989 Lancia Delta Integrale. The Italian answer to the Quattro. Plus it is legal in the states now.
1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 Berlina. Must have one 105 series Alfa in the collection.
1973 Kawasaki H2 Mach IV. The baddest two smoker there is.

  5. I'm on this. Hardest part will be limiting myself to five...

Oh, BTW, the interior swap on the 1800es has begun. As fetching as the smurf hides are, they have dry rotted in enough places to finally annoy me into changing them out. As for color, I'm going with the Volvo tan from VP.

  7. I dunno why I didn't chime in here, but I have my list ready. I limited selections only to cars I personally wrote up.

    Because Volvo 242

FZJ80 Land Crusher for utility, camping, crushing. Restyled front end adds some nostalgic charm.

    Turbo Suba-Beetle for the LOLz

E34 M5 Touring for those long 150mph road trips

    F20-powered 1800ES for the Hoonz

I guess it's also telling that all of these are variations of vehicles that I have actually owned, past or present.

  8. Damn, Cflo. I totally forgot about that f20 Volvo. That was a sweet recapitulation.
