Seller Submission: 1990 BMW 325i E30

This next feature is a seller submission from Mike who writes:  Yes, this is my car.  I have decided to thin the herd and focus on a smaller number of vehicles.  It's time to send this one to another garage will someone will put more miles on it. Find this 1990 BMW 325i offered for $4,000 in Richmond, VA via craigslist.

What Am I? Cyber Monday

It is Cyber Monday, so that means time for another edition of DT's favorite guessing game, also known as What Am I?   Today's featured photo comes from K2 Mystery Car who sent us a batch of "the good stuff," and this is another good one.

Jar Jar: 1985 Chevrolet Corvette C4

The original Corvette is a venerated icon in the automotive world; when released in 1953 it captured the heart of America, sort of like a young Luke Skywalker.  A few years later the Corvette got better. The C2 Vette was the ultimate in badassery culminating in the Darth Vader '63 Coupe (yes, that one).  The C3 Vette was not as pretty but had some serious firepower with the ZL1 all-alloy 427 cubic inch V8 fit for a galactic Emperor and Sith Lord...things were looking good for Corvette fans.  And then in 1984 Chevrolet released the Jar Jar Binks of the Corvette progression, a floppy pile of parts that had the structural rigidity of a Gungan's ear flaps and the reliability of a pod racer built by an 8 year old with salvage yard parts.  Find this 1985 Chevrolet Corvette C4 offered for $6,950 located in Lakeville, CT via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

3 For the Price of 3: 1989 Sterling SLi

The Sterling was the product of a bizarre Anglo-Japanese collaboration between Austin Rover Cars and Honda.  It was technically a rebadged Rover 800 series, but for North America the only powerplant was a Honda V6 borrowed from the Acura Legend.  Find these three 1989 Sterling SLis offered for a grand total of $15,000 in Rio Rico, AZ via craigslist.  Tip from Safety Fast (you might not know Safety, but we're all familiar with his brother Hugo Fast and sister Brea K Fast)

It Ain't Easy Being Green: 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera

This next tip comes from Sean S who writes: Two topics:  Does this interior make you want to throw up?  Also, in this Porsche bubble these are bargains. Are the 996 really that bad?  Even if the answer is yes and yes, I can't help but think this next ride might be a good deal.  Find this 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera offered for $13,000 in Monterey Park, CA via craigslist.

4-Speed 289: 1967 Mercury Cougar

The Mercury Cougar offered buyers a premium Mustang experience when new, but years later the Cougars offer the same Mustang chassis in a package that isn't quite as ubiqutous for less money.  What you do get is the same access to a huge collection of aftermarket repro parts, immense knowledge base (you won't be the first person to have the problem) and standard V8 plus available 4-speed.  Find this 1967 Mercury Cougar offered for $7,000 in San Francisco, CA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

6-Speed Turbo Hatch: 2011 Volvo C30

If you head out to your local used car lot looking for a late model front-drive hot hatch with a manual gearbox you'll probably expect to find something from Ford, Volkswagen, or Honda.  Add a turbocharger to the requirements list and Honda drops off the table, and if you want something that has more than 4 cylinders the list gets really small and something from a Scandanvian OE pops to the top.  Find this 2011 Volvo C30 here on eBay bidding for $5,000 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go, located in Maribel, WI.

V For Velocity: 2006 Cadillac CTS-V

The first generation Cadillac CTS-V was built in two distinct versions, first the 2004-2005 LS6 powered version and then the later 2006-2007 LS2 version which wasn't just a new engine, but also featured upgraded interior and beefier axles out back.  Naturally, the later cars are worth a few more bucks on the used market, but today's example looks well priced for what you get. Find this 2006 Cadillac CTS-V offered for $10,000 in South Amboy, NJ via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

Thanksgiving Saturday: 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL 600 R129

Most US Holidays float around the week, Christmas, New Years, Cinco de Mayo -- you know the deal, but a few are set to specific days of the week, particularly Memorial and Labor Days which arrive on a given Monday.  However, there is one Holiday that is apart from the rest, the bizarre final Thursday in November known as Thanksgiving.  Following Thanksgiving is the number one shopping day of the year (or so I've been told, I avoid shopping malls like a Fiat owner avoids parking above clean concrete) known as Black Friday and then a few days later is Cyber Monday...however, in between you've got two days that aren't known for anything.  Thanksgiving Saturday and Sunday have the dubious honor of being some of the worst possible travel days of the year, but contribute nothing to the social landscape.  They are stuck in the middle, sort of the way a late 90s Mercedes V12 sports car is stuck between being a depreciated maintenance nightmare and a collectible classic.  Like this  1997 Mercedes-Benz SL 600 offered for $15,000 in San Francisco, CA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

Bracq Friday: 1986 BMW 635CSi

The E24 generation BMW 6-series was another design from the Frenchman named Paul Bracq, who put his pen to paper and designed many incredible things like the original Pagoda SL and the French TGV high speed train.  This particular example is a reasonably priced and sports a 3 year old arrest me red paint job.  Find this 1986 BMW 635CSi here on eBay bidding for $3,600 with 5 days to go and a $5,500 buy-it-now located in Orlando, FL.

Black Friday: 1964 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE W111

This next feature is almost a Bracq Friday feature, but ultimately the W111 sedan design is attributed to Friedrich Geiger, but who's counting anyway?  Monsieur Bracq did, however, design the coupe version of the W111 and was probably involved with the sedan as a junior designer at the time.  Find this 1964 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE W111 here on eBay bidding for $7,000 with 4 days to go, located in Downingtown, PA.

Bracq Friday: 1986 BMW 735i L7 E23

If you are anything like the average American consumer, you've been camped out all night in a beach chair in front of your local mega mart hoping to get an eight percent discount on some piece of electronics that'll be obsolete by the time you reach the checkout stand, which is great because you'll need something to drive home.  That's where DT's Black Friday celebration comes in...or...in this case, Bracq Friday; a celebration of a French born mustache enthusiast named Paul Bracq who just happened to design a good number of German luxury sedans and the French TGV high speed train.  Find this 1986 BMW 735i L7 E23 here on eBay bidding for $2,995 with 1 day to go, located in Mount Hood Parkdale, OR.

Happy Turkey Day From Daily Turismo

Enjoy a day of rest from your job (or a day of toiling away at your minimum wage job if you work in retail in the US of A -- Black Friday Eve is a work day for many) because today is Thanksgiving.  We're going to take a break from featuring all these turkeys and eat some turkey...but first, a list of things we are thankful for after the jump.

Wagon Nation: 2002 Lexus IS300 SportCross

The first generation IS300 was built in Japan from 1998 through 2005 on what was called Toyota's N-platform, which shared many parts in its double wishbone front, multi-link rear, and front-engine rear-drive setup with the Lexus GS, SC, and JDM Chaser, Mark II and Crown.  The IS300 was the sportier of the small Lexus sedans and was available in a cool wagon shape called the SportCross.  Find this 2002 Lexus IS 300 SportCross offered for $7,997 via cars.com, located in St Charles, IL. Tip from Tinyfrogs.

Five, Dime, KA24: 1969 Datsun 510 Wagon

DT friend, tipper, and terminal Volvophile Luke sent in a great link to a cheap Datsun 620 pickup with an SR20 swap a few days back, but sadly that craigslist ad expired before we could feature the truck. So I started hunting around for alternative peppy J-tin; lo and behold, I hit the jackpot with a sweet wagon. It needs some work but seems like a steal of a deal for what's included. Find this 1969 Datsun 510 wagon w/ KA24 swap project car for sale in Tracy, CA for $3,200 OBO via craigslist.

Mid Week Match-Up: A $7k Car For Oakland Jeff

It's Wednesday, so time for another episode of Mid Week Match-Up, the weekly matching game where we help our readers pick the best car for their budget.  Today's MWMU request comes from Oakland Jeff who writes:

The trusty BMW wagon is getting a little long in the tooth...'02 325i (e46) with earth to the moon mileage. I talked the wife into a lower mileage (sub 120k?) 330i with a manual trans (woohoo!). Still has 4 doors & room for the 4 year old and associated gear, much more fun than the slush box wagon.

Here's is problem. Kelly blue book maxes out at around $5k but all the craigslisters around here seem to think their car is special ($8 -12k on up). Budget is ~$7k including purchase price and the list of things my trusted mechanic will want to do to bring it up to excellent cond., tax & lic., etc...

Zuffenhausen Assembled:1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E W124

The W124 E-class was the Mercedes-Benz answer to BMW's 5-series, but with the success of the E28 M5 and the upcoming E34 M5, the guys at Mercedes-Benz knew they had to respond with something fast.  So, they did what any logical German would do and turned to Porsche and pleaded for help.  The result was a Mercedes-Benz and Porsche collaboration called the 500E that combined the rock solid W124 chassis with a Porsche tuned engine and suspension.  Find this 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E W124 offered for $16,500 in Holland, PA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.
