This SL500 offers a great combination of low miles (70k on the odo), decent condition (looks nice inside and out), a favorable color, removable hardtop, and a decent bidding price...just gotta hope the reserve is low.
Powering the R129 500SL is a 5.0 liter V8 that puts out 322 horsepower and 332 ft-lbs of torque into a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The 4145 lb 2-seater offers a solid driving experience and with the hardtop in place you'll be hard pressed to tell it isn't a coupe.
See another classic cruiser that will be worth something again...someday...just not this week? tips@dailyturismo.com
I know a guy who was owner of used motorcycle store he had a MB very to this close model he had a minor problem and a dealer in the area was fixing it the dealer was driving it back to my friend and was on a overpass of I-5 in Wa. When fire was dispatched to a car on fire yes it was his car and it was a total loss not sure it bothered the owner much he trade car's all the time and never kept anything too long.

DeleteLove it. I'd paint the lower cladding to match the body and go with some new model wheels before driving it everywhere.
