A Fair Conversion: 1989 Chevrolet Van

This next feature comes as a tip from Andy L who writes: Dear Staff at Daily Turismo,  Here is a van in "fair" condition. Trying to think of a purpose outside of a parade event for this, but drawing a blank. Maybe it's the White Russian speaking, but I'm sure I can think of a few good uses for this thing.  Find this 1989 Chevrolet Van Ferris Wheel Conversion offered for here on eBay bidding for $4,000 with 1 day to go, located in Lohman, MO.

The seller lists this thing as a 1950s-1960s carnival like Ferris wheel Chevrolet -- and if that's what carnival rides were like in the 50s/60s, I can't imagine you'd get many repeat visitors.  Of course we'd all love to cruise down the highway at 80mph with the wind in our hair (bugs in our mouth) and enjoy the slight rocking of the bench -- but any mild braking would cause serious alarm/panic in the riders and forget taking any turns at speed.

I can imagine running this as a seaside people carrier, something you see along the shore near Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, or Coney Island in the summer.  You could probably charge people a few bucks for a tour and maybe moonlight on Uber Rainbow on the side.

    1. Yeah, sadly, I think this is the angle - I'll give Caitlyn a pass... I mean... Oy. Hey, Jefe, how about that Buddy-the-clown-mobile?

    4. True. But it's usually directed at me or whatshisfacewhoshallremainnameless.

  6. I think I missed my calling as a parade vehicle creator. 5 bidders have this vehicle at $4,000 and there is still a day left. A similar donor van can't be worth more than $1,000. If someone told me they would give me $3,000 bucks to turn it into this parade vehicle I think I might be able to figure it out. What do you need? A Harbor freight cutting torch, welder and some stock materials? Could you do it in a long weekend?
