What Am I? Abstract Art

Time for another edition of What Am I? the weekly quiz feature that keeps you on the edge of your seat like a mistaking a tube of jalapeno paste for preparation H when you've got a bad case of hemorrhoids.  This week I hope the puzzle takes more than a few minutes to solve.

What Am I? Comments below.

  1. Question, por favor, before I go down the rabbit hole looking for this. This, whatever it is, was it on oem factory stock examples of this auto, or does this involve some owner customization?

    1. From the factory. Not something from the fall Xzibit collection at Macy's.

  2. Ok, I got nuthin off the cuff, but I'm going to start exploring 90's JDM cars....looks to me like those crazy graphics they put on their cars in that era.

  3. If I had more time I would go down the "Eagle" rabbit hole.

  4. Kizashi was what entered my mind first since I (maybe mistakenly) recall an TV ad with a finish like that in it. Am I close?

  5. BMW Art Car? Perhaps the 6 series done by Rauschenberg?

    1. Not a BMW art car, this is an actual factory vehicle.

  6. Totally reminded me of Scott Wade, and that Azerbaijani parking lot attendant who turn dirty cars into art.

Other than that, I got nuthin.

    1. Yeah, I'm REALLY curious to see where they found one for under the self-imposed $20k DT cap.

    2. Great job figuring this one out KBZ, and no it was nowhere near the $20k limit. Raptor here

    4. I try and keep everyone in the dark on these quizzes. Sometimes, even I don't know what they are.

    5. It's the same tactic you employ when buying (or accepting as a gift) another car and you need to hide it from your wife. "Honey, honest - I don't even know what kind of car that is."

    6. unrelated... is jalapeno paste a real thing? - never seen that - i suppose i could make some

hang on, googling... uh huh, martha stewart - "In a blender, process 1/4 cup canola oil, garlic, jalapeno, thyme, salt, coriander, pepper, and cumin until smooth, about 1 minute."

    7. @KBZ - never seen jalapeno paste, but some MRE's have a "jalapeno" "cheese" spread that is probably the best thing in the bag. And yes, if you rub it in someone's eyes, it stings like a bastard, so I'm sure the effect to other body parts is similar.
