Coffee Brake: Coronado Speed Festival 2015

This past weekend I had the extreme fortune of attending the 2015 Coronado Speed Festival, hosted by the SVRA, and run on the North Island Navy base as part of the Fleet Week celebrations.  This is an event I've attended in the past, but this year someone handed me a yellow safety vest and told me I had the run of the place...just don't get run over.  Armed with a dSLR camera, 300mm zoom lens, sunscreen, media pass, and a giant hat I snapped a few hundred photos.

Coronado Speed Festival 2015

This was a fantastic event, I really can't recommend it enough for any SoCal car nuts, but I might be biased because DT commenter Euromoto (and Mark Dill from helped hook me up with access to the Jaguar hospitality tent.  Jaguar was a main event sponsor and I had a chance to drive the new F-Type R Coupe on an autocross track -- and it was impressive (more on that later). You can find the entire batch of photos here on flickr, and if you are a DT reader and want to use any of the photos for anything, just send me an e-mail ( and I'll give you permission, free of charge.  Enjoy the pics, I will do a full write up on the event later.

I didn't notice till I processed the photos, but this corner marshal is wearing a 24 Hours of LeMons t-shirt!
