Welcome Contributing Writer Gianni To DT

Long before we asked for new contributors, we've had our eye on Gianni, who has commented, tipped, and composed many DT features in the recent past.  Today, it my pleasure to announce that he is joining our ragtag group of internet pundits, two-stroke lovers, and armchair mechanics as a contributing writer.

Gianni joins the cast as an Alfa GTV owner (that is some serious street cred), a family man, a 2-stroke lover, and above all else a cheap car fan.  He brings with him some additional insight on vehicles that I'm not personally familiar with (bikes in particular, although CFlo has some experience with those 2-wheeled contraptions, my own experience is limited to a few miles on old Suzuki GS500 and a Yamaha FZ1) and this additional insight is exactly what DT needs.  Stay tuned as we have some additional contributors to add to the fracas, and if you want to join the team send us an e-mail.  tips@dailyturismo.com

  1. Again, my hearty congratulations! He's a great addition to the staff of DT, that's easy to see.

Though I find the words "two-stroke lover" very uncomfortable. There's medication for that and I'm not sure that's a good thing to air in public...

    Wheee! Wheee!

    1. When I was in high school, the snotty rasp of the Yamaha RD was a constant backdrop up and down the street in front of the school.

  2. I was just about to ask... how is Gianni doing? Last I heard he was trying to avoid getting bbq'd. Glad to hear you've emerged from the inferno largely unscathed?

Congrats on the appointment, looking forward to seeing more of your (Alfa based?) commentary!

    1. We were on vacation in Chelan, WA and there was a big 25 square mile forest fire about half way up the lake. We were fine except that we felt like a piece of brisket.

Unfortunately for the full time residents of Chelan there are some new fires due to lightning over the weekend that are threatening the town and they had to evacuate some parts of it and some homes have been lost.

  3. Congratulations Gianni! And I agree with Ryan on the Alfa commentary, because the only thing I really know about Alfas are that they're gorgeous, but break. A looot. Kind of why I haven't spent any time looking for a vintage one..

  4. We now expect three pages on the virtues of Spica injection complete with eBay links to all the important parts.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm digging big holes in the side yard to pour concrete so I have a place to store my garden of engine stands, rotisserie pieces, and the like, tired of them sitting in the dirt...
