What Am I? 55 Miles To Work And It's Snowing

Welcome to another edition of DT's cure for the Monday morning blues, everybody's favorite guessing game -- What Am I?.  This week we take a look at a pile of snow covering some hooptie.   You get to put on your thinking cap and figure out what it is.

What Am I?  Comments below.

Update, this is DT reader Rene's 1987 Audi 5000S Quattro.  Great job to all who correctly guessed it!

  1. Looks like a C3-series Audi 5000/200.

Or do you mean the snow?

    1. The wheels are fairly obvious, the front fender contours about right, the little badge on the front fender rub strip looks like the 'Audi' oval used on those cars.

  3. I want it to be an Eagle Premier or its twin, the Dodge Monaco

  5. This was likely identified above, but I'll say a Sterling 825.

  6. fwiw, i tried to correct for the vertical disproportion - squashed the height of the car by a best guess of the thickness of the snow - then roughed in some windows based on the location of the door handles - didn't reveal much about the model (which i concur is probably a big Audi) but does sort of add the possibility it's a long wheelbase stretch version - an L

  7. What about an Alfa 164. They have that line of plastic along the door bottoms, and the ridge below the door handles would hold snow. Didn't they have base wheels similar to these?

    1. No, the base had plastic wheel covers with holes in them.

  8. Audi 5000 CS Turbo quattro or 200 Turbo quattro, as I think somebody mentioned above.

    1. Could this be an Audi 5000 CD? Also, is this the car of a DTer?

  9. I had strong feelings about it being a Volvo 850 until I saw the rear passenger window...

    1. I thought as much. Sans white fluffy stuff.

None of us were precisely correct, only in general. I'm so ashamed.

    2. Everyone here is just too sharp for the knife drawer. I think in the future DT may need to revert to "showing the underside of the glovebox of a Facel Vega".
And yes I set the bar high for everybody local to work to make it in on a snow day.

Talking about setting the bar high, my cars are not "reader rides" worthy from the samples we have seen so far. So thanks for letting me weasel it in!

    3. I sure would like to know more about your Audis, Rene. And I'm not about to share the glory for identifying that it was a DTer car. I alone figured that out.
