Before you hit the little x on the corner of the browser window, let me explain the family man car dilemma. As a man with a few kids you still want to enjoy a thrilling ride but need to haul around a bunch of screaming brats. I'm not talking about Duggar levels of kids, but this combo is perfect for someone with 3-5 kids. First, you've got the front trike, which is where you will ride, enjoying the pleasant breeze and wind noise isolating you from any drama from the back seat.
The 1-ish liter Renault inline-4 mounted out the back is good for something in the realm of 50 horsepower and should be capable of pulling the Opel Kadett trailer to freeway speeds.
If you are heading to work, just take the front trike section and leave the Kadett rear section at home. But, if you need to pickup a load of bricks from the Lows Despot or take the little rug rats to their Brazilian Jujitsu classes, just hook up that rear section and go to town. Just be sure to check the legality of passengers in a trailer section of a moving vehicle for your local, because I'm not sure if that is legal anywhere.

Hmmm. Not exactly sure what to say. So, I'll shut up and move on.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what to say:
ReplyDeleteOpium den shuttle.
The TV in the 'camper' is a nice touch ...
ReplyDeleteHow much did they spend on that low profile front tire on the pooter ?
ReplyDeleteExport to India ASAP !
ReplyDeleteI was almost willing to give this thing a break, until I saw that interior shot of the trailer. Shudder....
ReplyDeleteI can smell the carpet door trim from here......
ReplyDeleteIf the Elio doesn't get made, I guess this will have to do.
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun. I'd love to travel with this combination. In the classic Italian Fellini Film(1955), La Strada, the circus strong man(anthony quinn)has a trike that has a pretty roomy covered truck bed. one complete three wheeler motorcycle for travel and sleep.
