5k: I Got Worms: 2001 Chevy Express 1500 "Mutt Cutts" Edition

Even with a build quality slightly above duct-taping a bird's head onto its neck, we don't get many details or photos befitting this masterful dogification. No given interior shots showing traces of mustard, dog hair, or urine. No information about how many seats it has, or if it has an open bed for picking up hitchhikers and hit men. Fortunately, the facade looks like it's been spared from hill jumping, and does a passable job of not blaspheming the original. That's far more than I could say for the recently released Dumb and Dumber To. Find this 2001 Chevy Express 1500 Dumb and Dumber conversion for $5,000 here on eBay located in a place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Bettendorf, IA.

Underneath the sheep dog toupee is a 2001 Chevrolet Express 1500 three-door van. A free and potentially unreliable VIN check told me it has the 5.7L Vortec, a stout LS1 derivative popular in plenty of cars around Daily Turismo. So many 5.7L Vortecs. It's said to have a whopping 652,000 miles, likely from driving a sixth of the way across the country in the wrong direction a few times while day dreaming.

While not as shaggy as the original, the fur treatment looks easier to drive with. The front lights are powered by a separate battery - using the laziest wiring job imaginable - because the snout covers the original lights. Fur on the window obfuscates the windshield wipers, not that you would drive this thing in the rain anyway. The rear haunches look relatively free from fire damage or gasoline stains.

If $5,000 seems steep, consider that the builder likely has his whole life savings in converting this van into a sheepdog. If you can't swing the asking price, you could always write up an IOU. Those things are as good as money.

PhiLOL actually likes the tuna here, but abhors structural rust. Save the manuals.
