3k: Seller Submission: 1990 Audi Coupé Quattro

The B3 generation Audi 80 was sold from in 1986 through 1991 as a sedan, coupe and cabriolet.  The coupe version lost the 80 designation in 1988 and became known simply as the Audi Coupé.  This generation of Audi Coupe isn't quite as iconic as the original '83-'86 Quattro, but it offers better driveability and ergonomics for a better price.  Find this 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro offered for $2,800 near Atlanta, GA via craigslist.  Seller submission from LE.

The Audi 80-based Coupe Quattro did not have the same wide fender flares of the original Quattro, but it has a sleeker looking body shape that has aged nicely.  The exterior aesthetics may look surprisingly fresh, but just about everything else in a used, high mile Quattro is going to need some attention soon.

This one needs some work, but the seller is very honest and upfront about disclosing the problems -- and offers a much better description than the typical "has some problems, call for more details" you get from the average craigslister.  Regardless of any cosmetic issues, the seller has been putting 100 miles a week on it, a testament to the basic durability of the mechanical components.

  1. Looks like its had a hard life with mismatched paint (accidents). Check the carfax if it goes back that far.

    1. Other than the small crack on the front bumper, the car hasn't been in any accidents. It has a clean CarFax report. The car's original paint is very sun faded. One panel has faded more that the others. The European model came with a turbo. The US version did not. Thanks, LE.

    2. Its the pearl white paint fading over time. Had 2 C4's that looked mismatched like that even though no accidents.

Like a frigid asexual supermodel, this car's performance never lived up to its looks.

    1. Fleetwood, my friend, you've been hanging out with all the wrong supermodels - it's a non-stop par-tay here at DTHQ - bring a bathing suit and a bottle of multivitamins, we've got everything else... wha? who? uh... yes, boss, i'll have that audit on your desk in five minutes - *sigh*
