10k: B20 Powered Classic: 1968 Volvo 1800S

What would a week at the Daily Turismo look like without a minty clean Volvo posted...we will probably never know because great examples of these things just keep popping up.  Find this 1968 Volvo 1800S currently bidding for $6,400 reserve-not-met with 1 day to go, located in Lakeport, CA via eBay.

This Volvo 1800S is offered as a 3-owner original California black plate example and it looks really nice in the pictures. The stance (YO!) is just perfect thanks to a set of lowering springs and the American Racing 15" wheels look appropriately vintage and cool at the same time.

The original B18 engine was replaced at some point in time with a later B20 engine which would have been good for 118 horsepower and a bit more torque than the original.

The selection of "sporty" Sparco seats is an interesting one and while they aren't period correct, they should keep you comfortable in the turns or on a long drive.

See a better way to spend your cash and get a little red sports car?

  1. Pretty car. 200S wheels are exactly right for it.

Of course, it's never exactly going to be a rocketship with a Volvo pushrod four under the hood, so you're left with the choice between authenticity and being blown off by Golf TDIs, or something like a 3.8 Ford V6 or - God forbid - an LS3.

  2. I'm not against being blown off in a car. heyooo. sorry for breaking a commenting commandment
