1k: Long Wheelbase: 1982 Toyota Hilux Pickup Crew Cab

The last time we featured a 4-banger powered crew cab pickup it was met by our readers with a combination of equal parts awe, consternation and befuddled exasperation. But that was a Plymouth Arrow with a dually setup in the rear...this on the other hand is built from the lauded Toyota Hilux platform and will surely be met with more positive accolades from our dear readers. Find this 1982 Toyota Hilux Pickup Crew Cab for sale in Los Angeles, CA currently bidding on ebay for $255 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go.  Tip from Andy L.

The Toyota Hilux pickup was never available from the factory with a sleeper unit like this, but the seller claims this was added by the original Toyota dealer as a custom option.  The dealer could have contracted with a local fiberglass/RV shop and put this together, but it doesn't look too weird...a bit long, but not horrible.

If the original 22R and 5-spd transmission are in good shape, this is a great deal at the current price..but the bidding ain't over yet.  tips@dailyturismo.com

  1. Amazing condition. It certainly does not look like a 300,000 mile truck. It is a shame there is no photo of the inside of the extra cab.

    1. By the way, I like that the "prove you are not a robot" window now defaults to numbers option. If that is something that DT did, thanks!

p.s. also love the Easter Egg pickup truck icon.

    2. Bobinott,
Actually that was google who made the changes to their captcha (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart)...and the only credit I can take is in forwarding the reader concerns to some anonymous robot mailbox that probably was concerned with the number of curse words and has marked any future mail from me as spam.

I am also bewildered as to why you'd sell a strange crew cab truck like this without a single picture of the sleeper area.

or maybe why was that ever made in the first place. It's going to be too short for anyone over 5'5", it's brown and just screams: "please look inside me for no particular reason"
