The 1992 Volvo 740 featured in Nov, 2012 is back on ebay, but this time with a lowered starting bid of $9k and buy-it-now of $10,500. Find it here on ebay or go test drive it in Fallbrook, CA and send us the details - we'd love to know what this thing drives like. The only reason we haven't just purchased this car for our own DT fleet is the California smog hassle we'd have to deal with, but the prospect of needing to get it BAR referee certified is looking better each time we think about it. Update 2/1 8:52amPST: BAR ref certification not required to renew its diesel title if you willing to live life under the radar - and worst case you could get it certified to 1999 C5 Vette smog levels and be 100% legit.
Please buy this car before we do...our wives will thank you!

The E30 BMW 3-series continues to have some of the better buys on the market for folks looking for rear drive, manual trans equipped sedans. We really like the look of this 1985 BMW 320i European import equipped with a M50 inline 6 swap, for sale in Charlotte, NC for $8500 via r3vlimted.com forums.
The Porsche 928 was introduced to the world in 1978 as the shape of things to come for Porsche. The sleek-in-the-front and bulbous-in-the-rear design was penned by Wolfgang Möbius and was one of the first cars to offer a polyurethane front bumper that survived the USA 5 mph impact requirements introduced in the mid 1970s. A V8 up front mated to a trans-axle finished the design that was decidedly non-911 and very much a luxury grand tourer. This 1985 Porsche 928S is offered in grand prix white, fitted with an automatic transmission and for sale in Largo, FL for $6,500 obo via ebay.

In 1984 the XJ generation Jeep Cherokee set the standard for a new era of compact sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Other manufacturers were surprised by success of the AMC designed unibody off-roader and scrambled to develop all manner of copycats. This 1989 Jeep Cherokee has been given a custom Cherokeemino rear end treatment and is for sale in a snowy part of Idaho for $3,999 buy-it-now on ebay.

The Cadillac Allanté was another attempt by an American automaker to bring some European style and allure into its American brands. It wasn't a failure of epic proportions like the Chrysler TC by Maserati or the AMC Eagle Premier, in fact it could be considered one of the best front wheel drive luxury GT cars to come from an American manufacturer...a dubious honor indeed. This 1993 Cadillac Allanté convertible is for sale in Lakeland, FL, currently bidding on ebay at $8,501 with 6 hours to go.

The Porsche 912 (1965-1969) was an entry level version of the iconic 911; using an aircooled flat-four (similar to the 356) it delivered better fuel economy in exchange for a cacophonous exhaust note and mild performance. The 912 was unloved for many years, the red-headed step child of the Porsche family, cheap examples were parted out for interior/panel/misc parts to keep 911s running and looking good, but recently the 912 has come into its own, and like an ugly duckling turning into a swan, its spawned its own enthusiast sites and prices for nice examples have appreciated to nearly that of the flat-6 powered 911. Therefore, it is surprising to see this numbers matching 1966 Porsche 912, located in Phoenix, AZ bidding on ebay for as little as $12,200 with 11 hours to go.
The 4th generation slab-sided Lincoln Continental is an automotive icon - famous for its roll in the Kennedy assassination as it is for its trademark suicide doors long before it was used as a getaway car in the Matrix. Produced from 1960-1969, today it is a hipster's dream car and well kept or restored examples trade well above $20k, so its surprising and nice to see one for DT prices. We are happy to give a quick glimpse of this 1964 Lincoln Continental hardtop project for sale in Los Angeles, CA for $3500 via craigslist.
The fine art of mounting two similar cars nose-to-nose has evolved over the years from home brew pickups all the way to the guys on Top Gear BBC trying their hand at the coming/going car. This 1939 Ford Siamese Coupe looks to be a great example, is built on an 1980s Chevy chassis and is for sale in Pontiac, IL currently bidding on ebay for $2,650 with 5 days to go.

The Pontiac Fiero is one of those 1980s cars that evokes an instant love/hate reaction from most gear-heads. Some love it for its mid engine handling and low entry price, while others hate it for shoddy build quality and a total lack of good performance in any guise. This 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT is equipped with V6 and manual trans, currently bidding on ebay for $3250 with 12 hours to go.

mid sized malaise era luxury barge powered by smog-choked V8s, there was a time when it was a large luxury barge with enormous gas guzzling smog-belching V8s. It doesn't' get much bigger than a mid '60s GM B-Body and the 6th generation Oldsmobile Delta 88 was 18 feet long and 4120 lbs. This 1966 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible is for sale in LA Valley Area, CA for $5500 via craigslist.

The 2nd generation Ford Falcon was sold in 1964 and 1965 on a shared platform with its cousin - the Mustang. Unibody construction and a sporty (for 1964) suspension setup made the Falcon an instant success, but it was overshadowed by the sporty coupe/fastback Mustang and discontinued in 1970. This was unfortunate because it offered a far more useable package with the Mustang chassis/powertrain. We will conclude our Week of Wild Wagons with this 1964 Ford Falcon 4-Door wagon for sale in Fresno, CA currently bidding on ebay for $2,802 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.
