5k: Jelly Bean: 1992 Geo Metro LSi Convertible, Low Miles

The 2nd generation Geo Metro was sold from 1989-1994 and shared the Suzuki Cultus platform with the Suzuki Swift and Pontiac Firefly.  The Metro is like a little roller skate that you only drive because your motor scooter is in the shop, but today's example is about as nice as you'll ever find.  Find this 1992 Geo Metro LSi Convertible with only 6k miles on the odometer for sale in Omaha, NE for $5,000 via craigslist.  Tip from Andy L.

Tipper Andy put it best when he wrote:
Yes, it is virtually new, and it probably gets about the same gas mileage as a Prius.   The rest is pretty much negative.  You won't want to be seen in it, but it is yellow and it is a convertible, so that makes i difficult.  In case that doesn't draw enough attention, it has chrome thangs on it. Oh, and it is slow, so people will have plenty of time to judge you about your taste in cars...

This Metro is powered by the G10, a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder engine putting out 55 horsepower.  The G10 is an all-alloy single overhead cam throttle body injected lump that isn't known for refinement, but does delivery fantastic economy and should last for a long time if maintained properly.

The inside of this Metro looks okay in the few fuzzy photos included, but with only 6000 miles on the odometer one would hope it would be just about perfect.

  3. Praise cheeses, it's a stick! Would make an OK belated Xmakah present for --- well, it sure is challenging to think of who would want this --- but who mostly drives around a warm small town or island. Freeway no way.

    1. Isn't Great Britain a big island? Maybe one of the chaps from Top Gear would rock it? Or Jay Leno, most weekends, he just mostly cruises around Pasadena waiting from someone from TMZ to take his picture...#amiright?

  6. Laugh out loud irony: of all the badass/cool/fun/obscure/ridiculousness y'all post here, it's the goddamn yellow Metro that gets the fastest comment stream count?

It might be the moonshine taking, but dats sum funny ass sheet...

  7. It would appear that this car has at least a driver's side airbag.

Also, I don't know about the LSi, but the XFi from that vintage would get 55 mpg highway. I know this because my dad worked at a Chevy/Geo dealer back then. No ICE today even comes close.
