This SVO is offered in excellent shape with an advertised 32k miles on the odometer - a minty clean example for sure. This one was sold from the factory with AC delete, which sounds great for the track but isn't exactly what you want in a weekend cruiser or low mile "show" car.
The SVO shunned traditional "no replacement for displacement" mantra with a turbocharged and intercooled Ford Pinto 2.3 liter SOHC inline-4, good for 175 horsepower and 210 ft-lbs of torque in 1984. Power is not overwhelming in the SVO, but it is peppy enough to push the stock Koni-adjustable shock equipped chassis around with some gusto.
The inside of this SVO shows in great shape for the vintage and proudly features a huge unicorn horn shaped shifter connected to the borg-warner T-5 manual gearbox. The SVO dashboard is a let down since it uses standard Ford plastic crap from the parts bin, but the seats offer substantial bolstering and are comfortable.
This is really top of the market for an SVO, but the miles are low and the car looks good. See a better special vehicle? email us here: tips@dailyturismo.com
I kinda think I want one of these every...say, year or so...until I see that broad flat plastic dash plate. If my everyday view from the cockpit has to resemble the same view if get looking out from a 1980s kit car, I'd rather Hardcastle and McCormick it in my Coyote for a few months.
