10k: Yellow Jacket: 1999 LaForza Magnum Especiale Supercharged

The LaForza was a luxury-performance 4X4 with an Italio-American background.  The chassis started out in Italy as an Iveco built military vehicle with a Tom Tjaarda (Ferrari 365, DeTomaso Pantera, etc) designed body and was then shipped to Hayward, CA for fitting of either a Ford 5.0 or GM's 6.0 Vortec V8.  The final vehicle sold for almost $90k in 1999 but received more befuddled looks than front row valet spots, so most buyers opted for a Land Rover or Escalade.  Find this 1999 LaForza Magnum Especiale for sale in Arizona for $10,000 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

This LaForza has seen some customization, but they were "custom" vehicles when new, so it is hard to tell how much of the work is recent modifications versus something ordered by an eccentric buyer when new.  If a buyer had approached an authorized LaForza dealer back in 1999 and asked for a custom baby penguin fur interior, the salesman would likely ask him if he wanted Emperor, Galápagos or Gentoo.

This one looks to be a GM vortec 6.0 liter V8 equipped with a color matched positive displacement blower mounted over the intake manifold.  Power should be in the 300-400 horsepower range, but good luck finding a clear specification on the interwebs...

The inside of this LaForza is equipped with a loud yellow/black color scheme, a few TV monitors, a Sony Playstation, a satellite TV-in-motion and a heads-up style night vision display made by the aerospace component supplier Raytheon.

  1. There have been no comments because there is literally nothing nice to say about this truck, except that it probably has no rust. It's like an issue of Truckin' magazine from 1998 puked on it.

    Jesus.
