5k: Fast And Loud: 1973 Mercury Capri 400 Hp Track Rat

The 1st generation Mercury Capri was build in Cologne by Ford of Germany, but imported in the USA via Mercury dealers.  It sold in limited numbers, but is fondly remembered by fans of classic European Fords and very cool for the money.  Just in time for the Monterey Historics this weekend, Find this 1973 Mercury Capri 400 HP Track Rat for sale in Salinas, CA for $3,500 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

First up we need to be clear that making a Kent 2.8 liter V6 put out 400 horsepower without boost will require either large amounts of money or a fantastic imagination.  Anything above 280 horsepower will require a good deal of prayer and the sellers claims of 400 hp should be met with careful skepticism.  But who cares, for $3500 it will be FAST AND LOUD.
